San Francisco Declaration

2010 Global Forum adopts declaration on Modern Direct Democracy.

The biggest global gathering of more than 400 experts, activists, officials and academics from all continents concluded their five day long work on more than 200 reform proposals with the adoption of the San Francisco Declaration on Modern Direcy Democracy, focussing on transparency, open access and deliberation. The 2010 Global Forum co-hosted by the Initiative and Referendum Institute and the US-based Citizens in Charge Foundation featured a so far unique mapping of direct citizen participation around the globe.
